Hi All,

I found an "official" definition of assault weapon features from the Office of the Attorney General here: http://caag.state.ca.us/firearms/regs/genchar2.php. Is there also an "official" definition of detachable magazine that I can print out, just in case I get harassed by an LEO?

These print outs actually came in handy today at the range. A guy who recently moved to California came up to me, and asked me about my BB configuration. Since I had the exact wording of the law, I was able to explain clearly why my configuration is perfectly legal. Of course, I also gave him the address of this web site, so he can check it out himself. A big round of thanks to all those who helped out.

Is it possible to sticky some of these links that explain the different legal configurations and their supporting laws? The OLL FAQ does a great job in explaining the history. But it stops short of explaining the mag lock and the BB configuration, and there seems to be a lot of interest in those. Also, links to official web sites are probably much more convincing, especially if you can print them out with the "Office of the Attorney General" banner on top. "Officer, this is a print out of the law from the California Attorney Genernal web site."
