Will the M110 be available outside the U.S. Military? Yes, but only once military contracts are filled. You can buy one of the other SASS submission rifles, but not the M110, at least not yet. Also, the commercial variant may not carry the exact M110 designation, as is often common with a commercial version of a current military weapon. Either way, it will be the real McCoy and 100% MilStd.

I wonder if the Armalite designed lowers are being used? I see how most of the other guys who make uppers are using a DPMS type setup.

It is marked Knights but I think it is an Armalite design. It has that angle at the back like an Armalite.

So is that 3k for the gun & 12k to ship it?

Isn't that what we've been using for the past 10 years?
Decked out M14 rifles?

Didn't really look at the picture. Just read "m14" in the story and skipped the rest.

The Knights and Armalite (After the name rights were purchased by Eagle in the early 90's) are two independent developments.
Today's Armalite only has the name in common. Eagle reverse engineered their AR15 clone to develop the modern AR10 (TM). Stoner didn't do any work towards their product development.
Eugene Stoner actually worked with Knights to further develop the original AR10 he developed while working for the original Armalite (Then a division of Fairchild Aircraft).
Please read The Black Rifle, Chapter 3 and Black Rifle II, Chapter 7.
The New Generation AR-10: The "Third AR-10"
As described in the US Rifle M14, the original ArmaLite, then a division of Fairchild Engine & Airplane Corp., produced the first AR-10 during the 1950's. Forty years later, as discussed above, Knight's Manufacturing of Vero Beach, Florida oversaw the development of Gene Stoner's own second thoughts on the AR-10 which they called the SR-25. Mark Weston's new ArmaLite Company, which has had many years modifying 5.56X45mm (.223 Remington) caliber rifles and carbines, was thus the third builder of an AR-10-type rilfe.

The Knight's SR-25 made it's debut in 1993.
Eagle Arms purchased the name rights to ArmaLite in 1995.
BTW one of the innovations Stoner brought to the SR-25 was the flat top upper and detachable carry handle.

I know all of that info (well a good portion of it) what I was refering to is it looks like an Armalite compatible design. Looks like you could take an Armalite upper and it fit the lower. Probably uses the same mag as well. Instead of looking like a fulton or pof lower (a large ar15 lower), it looks like an Armalite lower (that 45 degree angle at the back)

No. The SR-25 uses a mag that looks similar to the 20 rd AR15 magazine while the Armalite AR-10 uses modified M14 magazines.

Also note that the KAC mag well holds the mag vertical:

Whereas the Armalite/Eagle AR-10 mag well has an angle to it:

What's wrong with SR-25? It has to be a good rifle if we can't get it here right?

It's a good rifle, unfortunatley the SR-25 is listed by name. If and when the SR-M110 SASS becomes available commercially it would be Off-List and with a BB or "mag-lock" it would be CA legal.
BTW I think the $15k price tag is for the full military package with transport case and accessory package.
