I see that a condor died this week from lead poisoning. Conveniently this happened as a lead bullet ban for hunting in the condor range is being debated in Sacramento. I'm sure this will push it to passing. So, next will there be a complete ban on any projectile containing lead anywhere? It is the (il)logical next step for California regulators. If this happens it will pretty much close down recreational shooting in CA and as these things go, sweep the country and finish recreational shooting everywhere.

What do you think?

Just buy some Chinese ammo. It'll have lead in it.

Chinese ammo is already banned from import.

Condor death by lead poisoning. Interesting that they cannot prove the source is ammo.

Here are the population numbers from years past: Source: http://elibrary.unm.edu/sora/Condor/files/issues/v087n01/p0001-p0013.pdf

1930-1940: 60
1968: 50-60
1978: 25-35
1983: 19-22

And today's count? 144 CA condors.

Don't believe the hype. CA Condors are on the rebound. The ammo ban is not about the birds.
