I just received my IOR 3-18x42 Snipers Hide edition scope from Liberty Optics. The design of this scope was a collaboration of great ideas put forth by many knowledgable shooters.

Its FFP with 1/10 Milrad adjustments (1cm @100 meters) and side parallax adjustment. It sports a 35 mm tube with just over 20 mils of total internal adjustment (72MOA). The A5 reticle is great and with 1/4 mil gradations at the edges, milling targets can be done quite accurately. With 10 mils of elevation adjustment per turn, most 308 shooters will get to 1000 in one turn or less. It came with IOR rings, which are really just rebranded TPS rings, and a sunshade for $1295 delivered.

The caps, as you can tell, have numbers every half mil. IOR is already aware of this problem and is making replacement knobs to be sent out. New scopes will have the updated knobs with numbers every mil and a taller mark for the half-mil.

The glass on this scope has to be seen to really appreciate. It is typical of all of the IOR's I have been behind. Crystal clear and great low light ability is the norm.

I have yet to "put it on paper", so consider this, at best, a preliminary report. Range report to follow...

Very nice. Me like. If it wasn't for the fact I am so happy with mine I would go for something like that.

I just got back from sighting in the new IOR. After boresighting and getting on paper, I wanted to put the scope through the paces a bit. Once I got it adjusted where I wanted for the windy conditions, I started to play with the knobs.

I wanted to test how well it returned to zero. I fired one round, dialed up 10 mils of elevation, returned to zero and fired another round. I did the same for the next round, but dialed down elevation. Due to the 20 MOA Seekins base, I could only get about 7 mils down before it bottomed out. I then tried dialing 7 mils (one rev of the windage knob) of windage both ways, returning to zero and firing. This left me with a five round group.

Wanting to stretch my legs a little, I moved out to 400 yards.

Hitting clays, it tracked perfectly according to my confirmed dope with the old scope. I did the same at 500 and 600 on "targets of opportunity"-or in other words, whatever I could find on the hillside that ranged out at 500 and 600 yards. :D It tracked just as I expected...perfectly. I then returned to zero for another 5 round group:

The clarity of the glass is amazing. It seems to track well and return to zero as I would expect from a scope of this caliber. It offers a lot in the way of features for an excellent price. If you want a 3-18, FFP, metric adjustment scope with phenominal glass, this may be the one for you.

Yep. Savage 10fp, Bell & Carlson Medalist stock, Eagle stock pack, Seekins 20 MOA base, IOR (TPS) 35mm rings, Harris bipod...um, did I forget something? Its the factory barrel and has about 3500 rounds down it so far. Slowly, I keep adding things as funds allow. I'm waiting for the DBM system to come through that takes AICS mags. Thats when I rebarrel it to 243 and really start burnin' barrels!:D
