We need to learn from mistakes made in history. I posted on another thread about times in history where gun bans led to all kinds of bad things.

registration always ends in the eventual confiscation of weapons. Australia and England are a prime example and in recent memory as well.

for anyone to tell you that policitians are not going to take them away are fools no matter how smart they think they are. if and i mean if DiFi's registration dream comes true. come the next mass shooting there will be an order for the confiscation of them all. that is what she wants ultimately.

This stuff makes me sick! Isn't that why they teach history so we can learn from these mistakes. Its unreal.

Registration does not necessarily lead to confiscation. IMO, the anti's pursue gun registration for three primary reasons .

One it makes marginalizing gun owners easier. If you know who owns all the legal guns, registration documents can be used to jail gun owners on technicalities. Who needs to confiscate the weapons when you can throw the owner in jail for not documenting Line X?

Two, every sheet of paper you add to gun ownership makes it less attractive to the laypeople. Apple's iPhone is one of the most popular smartphones sold, but that would change fast if every device had a 10 day waiting period and Federal Smartphone Registry attached to it. Faced with the bureaucracy, a lot of people would just not bother.

Three;by registering guns it generates the foundation for more restrictive laws. Long before the British started handgun buybacks everything attached to using and shooting a gun required a government form-the foundation of which was rooted in the ability to track the ownership of a gun via registration.

After all, you cant have European style gun laws without first registering the guns beforehand. Its like trying to enforce mandatory auto-insurance policies without a DMV registry of titled car owners. Take out car registration, and suddenly traffic code becomes a lot harder to prosecute-and cars are a lot easier to spot for police then firearms. Even a .50 BMG rifle can be broken down for discreet transport.

I will not put them in the box,
I will not fit them out with locks.
You may not take mine, oh no no,
I will not ever let them go.
You cannot have them Dianne Feinstien,
So stick your bill where the sun don't shine....

With love, gun owners everywhere............

I have an acquaintence on the Exeter city council, and all he does is chew at how we need more gun control. Labour party, so socialist. This man makes some of our liberals look tame. Even there in the UK, there are fierce antis that still cant figure how how people get shot when theres not supposed to be any guns.

Yup I saw that. Basically leaving us with 18-19th century fire arms. Hahaha blows my mind how stupid these people are. Give me a break when did was the last time you seen a rocket launcher or grenade launcher used in a crime too? Haha laughable at the same time kinda scary that this may pass.

The thing with England is they voted for the banning of handguns and tighter restrictions. However the government used propaganda heavily to sway the vote. Here in the U.S we wont hve an opertunity to vote. We'll just lose our right without having a say in it.

it's been said, many times, many places...but when you ignore history, it does repeat...

ultimately...WE, the voters, are responsible for who is in office...if you agree/disagree with a candidate/incumbent...VOTE pro/con and encourage all friends and relatives to do the same.

contact your elected "Representatives" and POLITELY convey your point of view.
