I've searched the net for a takedown thumbscrew for a Winchester model 02 (aka 1902) without success. It currently has just a regular screw in it, and I'd like to get it to original shape. For an old "boys" .22 with fixed sights manufactured in 1919, it actually shoots pretty accurately at fairly short distances. It's too useful for a wall hanger. It makes a decent backpack / survival gun, since it breaks down so small and shoots so well. Don't suppose anyone has one laying around in their parts bucket?

From Bert:
The Model 1902/02/02A was in production from 1902 through 1930. If it is marked "02", it was manufactured sometime after February of 1919.

Winchester used that thumb screw on more than just the 02. I would call Jim at: http://www.tapaderaswinchesters.com/partslist.html and ask him, good chance he has one. Or you can catch him at the Big Reno Gun Show April 12, 13 & 14, 2013.

That's a great lead. Thanks! Mine I believe is 1919, because it's the first year they changed the barrel marking from 1902 to 02, and it's the only year there was a double space between the word "model" and the "02". Afterward there was a single space in between. Much appreciated.
