Yes, You can ship it yourself. And when the manufacturer is done with the repair he will be able to ship it right back to you. No FFL needs to get involved.;)

It can go USPS. Be careful how you address it (no mention of firearms), and be sure to insure it.

I was told only dealers can ship USPS. They can do piroity mail ever. We as consumers have to ship overnight or next day. UPS just cahrged me 50 bucks to ship a gun back to Smith and Wesson.

Yes you can ship it to the manufacturer. Call them and they should e-mail you a prepaid shipping label that you can print on your pc.
I did send a pistol back to Ruger and a complete upper receiver to Bushmaster ,shipping was prepaid by the manufacturer. Customer service of both companies are great..
