hmmm

sounds like playing craps on getting a complete gun of a scrapped one...

i did consider nabbing a couple just for the receivers but i bought a 22 ar upper instead and some mosin ammo that was non corrosive..

I picked up my first mosin for $90 this past summer and it was a fantastic refurb project, I'd love to purchase one of these u-fix-ems too. Can't seem to order them online, would you just call in to place the order even if you don't have a C&R?

century u fix ems are not a bad deal most of the time. Mostly broken stocks or missing a safety lever most of the time. Nice way to get spare parts from a mostly completed rifle. I remeber ordering yugo M59s u fix ems years ago. Ordered 3 and two had broken safety levers, rough stocks, almost no blue above the woodline and one had a bent bayonet. Rough looking but serviceable parts. All 3 were shooters. I would expect the same from these ones.

I ordered a $179 Good incomplete Friday (12/21). There were in stock then.
Most all the good-fair ones are turning out to be decent guns. I've only seen 3 with metal pitting. Stocks look like crap and cracked on many, but some clean up nicely. Some have commented that the $235 ones are no better than the $159-179.

I have my fingers crossed.

Hey! I got my $179 fair condition on the 24th. Didn't have time to look at it until yesterday. It's one of the fully engraved rifles! All I have cleaned so far is the trigger group. Even it's engraved! Check it out...

I took the t-g all apart and cleaned it up. It's actually in working cond.
I don't have pics of the rest of the engraving yet but it's all over the rifle.
Overall the rifle was in great cond with almost prefect bluing and fully matching. It will be a shooter, but never a looker, that's for sure..

Oh, btw anybody have an extra rear sight leaf? That's rotted off too...

It's heart breaking to me that these weren't taken care of better during use and storage.

It's heart breaking to me that these weren't taken care of better during use and storage.

Yea, that's the main disappointment with mine.
When I first pulled it from the box I was impressed that all the bluing was there and all matching. Upon taking it apart, the hammer wasn't even dented from hitting the pin. All in all it looks unfired except for a somewhat beat stock.

But it looks like someone soaked the stock in salt water before they put it on the rifle.....

Hey, ya roll the dice and hope for the best!!

It still may end up a favorite shooter...
