I think you're extraordinarily optimistic, I've yet to see one go for that little that didn't have something wrong...
You could get one of the shorter barrel models and add the rails and goodies to get pretty much the same thing.

i am thinking about selling my socom 16 which has the socom 2 rail. I put less than 150 rounds through it. I paid $1250 for the socom 16 +400 for the Socom II rail and may sell it for my cost cash. PM me if you're interested.

I'd suggest if you're so set on the SOCOM II you jump on Ruey's rifle, that is the lowest price you're going to see one in good shape. $1500 for something that is in high demand, low supply, and retails well over $1800 is very optimistic. :o

i've never mounted anything on the rails and shot no more than 150 rounds through it. The yellow stuff is just grease i used to keep it in top condition and always cleaned it after use.

can't you make up your mind? A few posts ago you were telling him that iw would be hard to find one for $1500... now when i post what i paid ($1650) you are saying it's too expensive?

What about the trouble I went through to get the railing ($400+shipping), (+had paid $60 to have it installed)

Good luck to anyone who can buy this rail directly from VLTOR as last I checked they only sell them to SA and will not sell it separately to anyone.

At the end of the day I paid about the same than I would for a used one but I did it at the satisfaction of completing what I set out to do.

1) I clearly have no trouble making up my mind as I stand by my statement that it'd be hard to find a Socom II for $1500. You're not offering a Socom II, but a modified Socom 16.
2) I never said that $1650 for your bastardized Socom 16 was "too expensive" I just wondered aloud why somebody wouldn't put up the extra $87 to get a NIB Socom II versus a used Socom 16.

And based on your first post, "may sell it for my cost cash" that would be $1650, only in the last hour did you reduce the price to $1575.
So...:p

np problem ;)

honestly i'm not so inclined to sell it as I've been saving for a JAE stock to put on it. If he can get a socom 16 I will be willing to sell the rail for $400.

I have a Socom with a complete Sage EBR stock for sale. The EBR stock makes the rifle a free floated barrel and more accurate. I had to build it so it doesnt have a pistol grip or collapsible stock for good old CA. Check it out for yourself. Let me know

Just curious, is the reason you want the Socom II because of the rails? Just lowered the price of mine, complete with the EBR stock because I sold the optics and mount. If you want I can take off the EBR stock. Just giving you some options, told my wife I would TRY and sell my rifle and if it doesnt sell, oh well. Take Care.

I realize it's my own fault for continuing to read this thread, but part of me is ever optimistic that you might find a better deal than all my searching has produced.
With that being said, and with all due respect, you've been posting this for nearly a month.
Over 20% (30 total) of you 140 posts are in this thread.
Many people have tried to point you in the right direction, me included.
A Socom II in San Diego for $1799, Sacramento for $1800, I linked you to one in Turlock for $1737 and one for $1677 (budsgunshop.com) but you said you didn't want to buy from out of state.
Maybe, just maybe, $1500 is unrealistic and you should settle for the best deal you can find?

every so often someone will feel the need to scalp a cat at the end of each day.

whatever floats his boat, i think the longer he waits although he might find one, he's missing out on the fun of getting one. it's like those who buy a new AMG mercedes and pay $20k over sticker to get it early vs those who wait 2 years later to get a used one and save $20k off the sticker price. There's people who want to enjoy it now and pay for it and that's the reason they can pay for it because they know how to use money to use it against the short time we have.

I offered mine for sale and he didn't respond so I decided to keep mine.
