Was a member for years, years ago. Got disillusioned by several choices they've made, gave up on them and joined Gun Owners of America.

Watched the press conference this morning and rejoined. If nothing else comes of all this, I support the NRA's support and efforts to protect our kids.

Yes. A donation to CGF as well.

Even of you don't love the NRA, remember, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".

I am hearing really, really crazy talk from people I know, who really should know better, about "gun control". It is getting scary. They are openly advocating for a police state, RIGHT NOW.

I find it pretty distressing.

This thread gives me a great deal of hope. So many people stepping-up and doing the right thing. In some cases they are helping others to join the NRA. Fantastic.

I don't know when President Obama is going to begin his conferences but I suspect it will take a month in earnest. The NRA could grow my a monumental number in that time if we all continue to spread the word.

The media is out of control, and I may not agree with everything the NRA has done, but we need someone strong enough to stand up to the rhetoric.

I will sponser anyone wanting to subscribe for a lifetime memership. Its $300.00 instant instead of the full $1000.00 price. Here is the info.

It is back: NRA Lifetime Memberships $300

Three possible ways to qualify:
1. Retired Veteran
2. Disabled Veteran
3. Be referred by a current lifetime member. I am a current NRA Lifetime member. Pm if you want to be sponsered with you name and address and Ill call the NRA for you and sponsor you.
4. NRA Life Members can sign up "family members and relatives" for Life Membership for $300 each.
If you dont know a life member go to any gun store or gun range and ask any NRA Life Membership sponsor you.
5. All thay have to do is to call the NRA at 1-800-672-3888
6. Press 3 for the lifetime dept.

Or you can call the NRA Tell them a relative suggested you upgrade to a lifetime membership for $300.
Give them the referring relative lifetime member's NRA #, give them your NRA info, give them your credit card info.

All charges by NRA are your responsibility.

i joined the nra in the 80's and let it slip away in the 90's...

i recently arrived at my residence in the midwest for the holidays... my ffl has been holding onto 7 pistols and 2 rifles for me...

so he says to me... every gun owner should join the nra... its our strongest voice in the fight...

i was thinking yawl... gotta have a voice in the fight... butts there is a lotta ch1t they do that i dont agree with...

then after wlp was on the tv... i though my ffl is right... i dont agree with 90% of what any groups does... and with the nra being our strongest voice in the fight... i pulled the little trigger...

so early christmas morning i gifted the nra a 5 year membership in exchange for their voice in this fight... i hope they put my $125 to good use stop the craziness...

yawl... lets roll...

I'll join the NRA when they can get someone more effective than LaPierre to champion my Constitutional Rights on Meet the Press.

One of the most important battles in the history of the 2nd Amendment, and the best they can do is someone that comes off like Grandpa Simpson... "Where am I?!" "What's going on?!"

That and being considered a leper by the NRA because I don't hunt and want NFA items makes me say No Thanks.

I support SAF rather than the NRA, because the NRA sold people like me out for people who want to hunt deer and shoot skeet.

Yes, keep supporting an organization that gives Harry Reid a "A" rating

With what, an answer to the question you asked?

You asked a question, and I answered your question. In addition, I did you the courtesy of explaining my answer with resonable criticisms. That you consider my action and my answer 'polluting,' instead of responding in a meaningful, constructive manner says much more about me than you. If all you wanted were a bunch of Yes Men to stroke your online persona, you should have indicated so in your OP.

That's right Piers, run from the critical thinking.

How it scares you so...

Your ad hominem attack aside, I'm not afraid of critical thinking. Not in the least. But I realize that in exigent times like this, the right thing to do is to join the NRA irrespective of the other moves you make.

You can continue to whine about the NRA all you want but to even infer for a moment that you are taking a better, higher road by not joining the NRA is simply hogwash.

So go ahead and continue to carp about the NRA after joining it -- just don't try to sell the notion that joining the NRA or XYZ is a mutually exclusive, zero sum game. It's not -- particularly when NRA membership can be had for as little as 10 bucks a years. Do both.

I was draggin my feet on renewing my NRA membership, but signed up for a 3 year membership after the CT shooting. I also plan on donating $50 to $100 to the NRA-ILA, which is the entity of the NRA that does the actual lobbying.

To all those that **** on the NRA and are not joining, I simply can not understand why you are not joining. There is strength in numbers and the more that we can back up the NRA the better it'll be for us. I'm trying to keep my composure as I type this, but it's hard, because, I swear, some of you guys just aren't getting it.

I re-joined last year before all the "stuff". Since all this reactionary B.S. started figured that the National issues might pale in comparison to what will happen here in the DPRC (Democratic Peoples Republic of California) with the upcoming supermajority. So to help out I joined the CRPA and gave NRA gift memberships to my kids (both are pro gun).
