I was searching for a nice place to shoot and wanted somewhere besides the range and considering that Panoche is still closed, I had to find another outdoor place where they allow target shooting. Well, after a week of searching I found it and went ahead.
About the shooting spot
The place is cool, we were the only ones there. I'm guessing the maximum range is 100-130 yards (uphill), if you're shooting level it's probably 60-70 yards (I'm just guesstimating). There's no furnitures, no big T.V.'s, no computers or propane tanks. But it does have it's share of shotgun shells. I just had to pick-up my own brass and trash.
The Rifle
First off, this is the first time that my AES-10B (RPK clone) tasted ammo so I was a bit anxious about shooting it. First impression with it is that it shoots straight (Brown Bear), I mean wherever I point it, the POI is where it's at. It's a bit front heavy (bipod and heavy barrel). The trigger is sweet (tapco g2):D, better than my 1000lb. pull DPMS LPK in my AR-15.
I don't have pictures but I have a video to share so bear with me. Oh and I was killing a lot of innocent tin cans.
I got the AES-10B from Oaklanders group buy thread http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=63049
Here's the vid.
