Just curious if anyone has any experience with Classic's batch of mosin snipers for $600? They had some for awhile, sold out for a few months, and now as of yesterday or so advertise more back in. Trouble is whether or not this is a "good" investment of $600. So anyone get one from Classic? How's the condition etc?

i have a big 5 repro sniper that is a good rifle in every way. still i would like to have the real deal. my problem is like a lot of folks . no cash or C&R.
big 5 took cash and my american express card. i am just a broke , retail looser.

When I shoot sub-moa with mine it feels so right.

They were real, and a fantastic value. Real sniper rifles are not cheap, except for PUs because they found a small amount to import.

Thanks for the on-topic replies guys. ;)
Notabiker, don't be a broke retail loser. Just fill out the C&R paperwork. Takes maybe 20 minutes and last year I got my license within two short months. 2013 is the last year of the golden age of rifle buying as I understand it. Anyway, on topic, sounds like a "if money is no object" kind of purchase.

+1 Any CA resident that is interested in C&Rs should get their license now and buy what they can afford before 2014 when things will become much more difficult.

It's a good investment. Price on them hasn't gone up yet, but a few years down the line I can see them worth 1k. I have two, might sell one some day, but have no plans really. If I die with both, more power to me.

i do not get caught up in the history of military guns. saying that their is something special about a WW11 MN PU sniper that has maybe seen combat and then sat in a warehouse for 60 years for me to own. that is worth 800 bucks to me.
