If you go up the 14 freeway there is a cut off, South, to the Bridge to Nowhere. That will save you two days of climbing up over boulders and 6l crosses of the river before getting to fairly easy ground to hunt on. I would check Google Earth also. It's the old road that was used to get to the gold mine that use to be active there decades ago before the flood and was suppose to continue on to Wrightwood. That's what the bridge was built for. Be mindful there are hikers going up to the bridge for bungie jumping and prospectors up there all the time besides the game. If your hearty you will get something. Most guys don't have the stamina for that with all the gear and that's why most of the accidents happen when crossing the river. Like to hear a report and see some pix, please. Good Luck.

Always check the harvest numbers before you head out for bear to be sure the quota has not been met. They dont update it every day, but its all we have to go on. I guess they are not too concerned about going a bit over the 1700 quota if they dont stay on top of updating the numbers
