What is your everyday carry light, that you routinely have on you, that will essentially be your primary light in an emergency?

I have plenty of fun lights, the 800 lumen to 1000 lumen lights that are fun to mess around with. But in an emergency, I routinely carry my beat up 2 year old neutral white 4sevens Quartz 123 light with AA batteries. I have a 14500 lithium battery to get a little extra lumens out of it, but it can switch to the easy to find AA batteries if it should run out of juice.

What is your EDC light?

I carry a Fenix TK41 with Eneloop XX in them. I use my light everyday for work and at home and so far it's lasted me 2 weeks without having to charge yet. The light usually stays on for 10-15 mins 2-3 times a day, so far so good.

Very bright light for the size, keep one on the keychain at all times. GF has one as well.

Although I wish it would go to the brightest setting when first turned on. I don't care to cycle through medium and low to get to it.

Everyday-carry.com is a pretty sweet site to get some ideas from, though it seems a tad bit hipsterish.

Right now massdrop is having a group buy on Jetbeam RRT01's. It's not bad for the money if enough people cop.

iTP A3 EOS flashlight. Uses one AAA battery and is tiny and light. 96 lumens on high and never seems to run the battery out. $19 on Amazon. My only complaint is the pocket clip is a little wimpy. I lost one already, but they're cheap enough to replace when that happens.

Never heard of this. You can substitute 14500 for AA? Do these come in rechargeable versions? How much extra light do you squeeze from, say, a 2 AA battery using the 14500s?

Fenix E05. Uses a single AAA. Very happy with it.

Same here, my keychain light. Not gonna blind anybody but good enough to get around in the dark.

You sure you have an E05 and not something else? Because mine only has 1 setting... ???

I'm sorry, I'm lame... I have the LD01 model.

The LD01 is crazily brighter than the E01. 72 lumens on high, 26 on med, and 3 on low.

I carry a gen 2 FourSevens Mini MA (http://www.foursevens.com/product_info.php?products_id=3170) (single AA).

It's 108 lumens and a great little keychain light. Note the gen 1 is only 90 lumins, the gen 2 is 20% brighter putting it up to 108.

Streamlight PT-2L. Has withstood multiple falls and about 4 wash & dry cycles. Been carrying it for about 2 years now.

I have a few different surefires I cycle through on a regular basis. Maybe not as bright as some of the newer lights on the market today, they have proven to be extremely reliable and except for an occasional dead battery they have never failed me.

The only complaint is all of the 123 batteries I have used up over the years, I need to convert to a rechargeable battery. Any suggestions?

I always have a Photon LED on me, except when I am in bed or the shower...
184700

I was given a giftcard to Home Depot for my birthday. I didn't have any projects going at the time so I looked to see what they had in LED flashlights. I found the Fenix MC11 interesting and ordered one. I have had the MC11 for a couple months now, I really like it.

I am in a very rural area. After dark you NEED a light to function away from the house, this is the flashlight I am most likely to have in my pocket after dark around here...

I used to frequent on the CPF forum. And I have my C cell maglite cut down and run on 18650 batteries, i get around 500 lumens. And I have my D cell maglites modded to run 3 LED emiiters that gives a total of 900 lumens.

THis is the one I cary.
AA focus-able flashlight (http://www.amazon.com/SODIAL-300lm-Flashlight-Torch-Adjustable/dp/B009NAE3YM/ref=pd_cp_hi_3)

Super bright, takes AA or L-Ion 14500 batteries the focus feature is actually really handy and stays put where you focus it.

I bought a couple of them because they were so cheap. After using them for a little bit I just bought another 5 of them.

The most fun use I have put them to was shooting at night way out in the boonies in Mendocino. We took two of these lights and illuminated a 6"x8" steel gong at 230 yards and were able to make it out and hit it with my Remington 700.

My EDC is an Energizer pen light that I got for about $6. I believe it's less than 20 lumens but bright enough for everyday stuff or night. It uses 2 AAA batteries. I also carry stream light nanos on my key chains.

Fenix PD30r2 is my EDC, I have a PD20 also, however the PD30 is way easier to grab ahold of, and honestly not much bigger (1 cr123 longer). Would like to get the newer PD32r5 at some point
