View Full Version : Rifle ranges

Hey guys, I am from San Diego, where I had plenty of places to shoot my rifle. Now I live in Long Beach and I feel like there is nowhere to shoot a rifle. Can anyone tell me of a rifle range or BLM spot somewhere? Thanks in advance.

Try this one:

and google "34.436062,-118.070862"

It's a 1000 yard range a lot closer to you now than when you lived in San Diego. I heard about it at the Prado.

Angeles Shooting Range - out to 600 yards with beautiful landscape in the back ground

Indoor shooting ranges around you are Field Time Target and Sport in Stanton

No I do not work for these ranges, just been there and liked the way they run their establishment that is all

SharpShooter (Indoors) in Torrance allows 5.56, but you have to take a class first. (only 17 yards).
LAX Gun range (Indoors) also allows 5.56 (but you have to use their ammo).

"A Place to Shoot" is up San Francisquito canyon just north of Santa Clarita.

Some people don't like it, but Burro Canyon which is up in Azusa Canyon. The fee is $10 a shooter per day. You can shoot any caliber, but you can almost never shoot steel core/jacketed. If it is raining or has just rained, then you can. Also no metal targets.

Angeles is cleaner, has metal targets. Still no steel ammo. $13.50, $12.50 if you are NRA, half off on Thursday iirc. Ammo selection is better at Burro, but I save money by not buying ammo at either. Burro does sell reloads for several calibers, Angeles does not, though it has a "Reloading Store"

I like both. I enjoy the staff at Burro more, but haven't had any issues at either. Burro would be closer to you. I don't know of any outdoor ranges closer, but there may be, especially south of you.

Good luck finding a place you like!

LA Gun club allows rifle caliber with range ammo, but not good for anything but short zeroing.

LAX has a nice 25M depth but still not good for anything besides funtime casual shooting and detailed zeroing.

I am in Lomita, so this information applies to me, too.

Thanks for the posts and suggestions.
