View Full Version : What do you guys think of this one?

I am considering buying this scope for my savage and moving my current scope to my M14.

IOR 6x24x50 (http://www.valdada.com/vn/ior/03s)

I love my current 4x14 but was curious if anyone has heard anything about this scope, good or bad.

I'd only go up to that much magnification for a range only rifle or if I were putting it on a rifle that I want to shoot beyond 1600 yards. Keep in mind though, that the higher magnifications are going to be heavily affected by mirage.

You know what's funny? I thought about all of that right after I posted that and was to late. I think I want to just buy something for the M14 but not spend more then say $600. The M14 won't be a bench, super gun or anything so I don't think I need a $1000 scope on it. It is no super match rifle and I don't plan it to be.

Any suggestions?

Stick with the IOR 4x14 or maybe one of the 1-4 scopes like the Meopta Meostar 1-4 or GRSC Combat Rifle Scope. Something of that nature would get you to 400-500 yards easily but allow for quick hits inside of 100 yards also.

I was thinking doing nothing over 500 with the m14. Thanks.

Check out this link:

I've heard some good reviews. Suppose to be very similar to the Millet DMS-1 but with a FFP reticle. It doesn't seem bad for the price.

I have always liked the idea of that scope. I may have to get another Millet though. I just can't see myself paying for that reticle. I may also look into something in the 3x9 range as well.

I got a few days to think about it. My rifle won't be out of state prison for a few more days.

I also plan on getting optics on my M1A after pulling the junk mount/rings/scope off of it. If your looking at a ranging scope for a M1A then check the leatherwood. The guys I know overseas say 10X or EOTECs both work well.
