View Full Version : 2013 California Bill INDEX THREAD - look here to find the Calguns threads about bills

12-05-2012, 9:10 PM
This is a bit earlier than I had planned to create this thread, but the legislature was in session this week, for a day.

Let's use this thread as an index to the bill threads here on Calguns - find them, start a real thread, post a link to the thread here.

'Real thread' titles need to be specific:

2012 -- the year introduced, so when someone necroposts in 2013 we know the bill is not current

AB or SB ###

Topic of the bill

So, "SB 124: 2011 DeLeon Ammunition Bill" has all the info in the title. (The colors are here just to identify the parts - nobody should use them, unless they think it's fun or something, but they won't appear in color on the forum page.)

Discussion on the bills, status updates, etc. should go in the specific bill threads.

Bill threads should have a link to the bill page, not just the bill text as introduced - since the bills get amended, and the bill status is at the bill page link.

Added bills from 2/22 to post 6 above:

The earlier bills are in post 1:

This should be the end of new bills for this year. Now we have to watch for any gut-and-amends as well as bad changes to the bills.

Now, a request for assistance - if you find any bills that we haven't addressed, please feel free to send me a PM with details, or post it yourself following the naming convention that Librarian has suggested.

It is going to be a VERY interesting year for legislation. Let's all keep clear heads on the issues, and try to work positively for the effort - arguments won't help solve our issues.

Don't post things that might aid those who would limit the 2nd Amendment make the bills even worse. Just like being in court - don't give the opposition "ammunition" (pun intended) to shoot us down.

Department of Finance has a page where one may find their analysis of fiscal effects of bills, and their support/neutral/oppose recommendation - http://www.dof.ca.gov/legislative_analyses/

As of May 8, very few analyses of gun bills are yet available.
