Why hasn't glock made a .380 yet

They do, but they can't be imported into the States because they didn't get enough points on the gun import test.

Yup, they do. There is one at Markleys on display. They have one of every glock model even the training models and even a cut away model. Very cool to look at all of them.

They are on the Glock web site. Look at the lineup by caliber.

Previous .380ACP Glock thread. (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=647925&highlight=Glock+25+28+.380)

What I posted in that thread...
As mentioned before, the .380ACP Glocks do not generate enough points to allow importation for civilian sale. However, LE agencies are exempt from this and can acquire handguns that do not generate enough points for importation.

During the 1990s, a few USA LE agencies bought some .380ACP Glocks for undercover/off-duty use. Eventually, those agencies have started to trade in those .380ACP Glocks and occasionally they show up on the civlian market. When they do, they sell for way over MSRP due to collectors driving up the cost (example... good condition Glock 28 = $900).

Primarily the .380ACP Glocks were developed for countries in which the civilian population can not legally own/use Gov/Mil/LE cartridges.

Glock 25 = same size as the Glock 19/23/32/38
Glock 28 = same size as the Glock 26/27/33/39

Awhile back an aftermarket vendor made some .380ACP conversions for the Glock 26/27/33/39. But, the problem was the unavailability/cost of the .380ACP Glock magazines ($100 for a 10 round Glock 28 magazine). And the project was discontinued only after a few sales.

Due to the blowback design of the .380ACP Glocks, felt recoil is the same as the 9x19mm Glocks.
(I shot a couple of magazines through a Glock 25 and the recoil felt the same as the Glock 19)

Yeah, not sure why anyone would want a .380 when there are 9s just as small! The .380 has horrible ballistics for the most part.

I want one just because I can't have one!

I may be off base here but I thought the .380 Glocks were just .380 in the existing 9/.40 frame in order to get pistols out to folks who live in countries where they cannot legally own a 9. With this in mind there would be no actual reduction in the size of the weapon and you'd be berrer off with the increased power of the 9 along with the lower ammo cost. If glock built a new specific frame that was reduced in size just for the .380 then that would be a whole other situation.

Again, this is just my understanding from the web r nets.

Your understanding is correct. Read post #5, my previous post in this thread.

if i ever had a burning desire for a Glock .380, the G26 pretty much snuffed out that fire.

They have made a .380 caliber pistol. It wouldn't sell in the U.S. even if available.

Since some Glocks are USA made now, who knows the 25 and 28 might arrive, would not hold your breath.

If they shortened the sub-compat to a 3" barrel, and slimmer (single stackish), I might have interest.
Other than that, the 9mm counterparts are the same size, 9mm FTW.
