I heard some talk of this. Is it true?

According to this site (http://www.ccrkba.org/reciprocity.html), it's true.

Maybe Nevada is one of those states that makes you take an actual "live fire" class to get your CCW. Utah doesn't require that.

Although reciprocity legislation in Nevada passed this spring and became law, part of that was that the needed to develop a list of which states had similar requirements for CCW. That list has not been published yet, to my knowledge. I think their deadline was October, 2007 to publish. They will probably require a shooting component, plus the ability to verify the CCW on a computer database 24/7. This first requirement will knock out Utah, the second California (I think). Keep your fingers crossed.
