Hi everyone. Saw a 3914 For Sale recently but it didn't look like mine at all. The frame tapered gradually from behind the trigger guard towards the end of the dust cover. On mine, the frame contours up after the tg and then runs more parallel to the barrel. Can anyone shed some light on whether this is a generational difference?

Here's (as close as I can figure) what I saw;

I have a 3913NL which has the same taper dust cover as the lady smith. Looks like you have a 3914NL.

What does NL mean?
All this time, I thought Lady Smith's were revolvers.

Yeah, looks like a NL to me. Same as a LS but blued. Great find and rarer than a LS. If you don't want it, let me know! :D

I have no idea... took those pics off google search (images). Here're my 3914s.

I don't know if it helps or not but your original pic is a April 1990 model 3914NL.

Neat lil guns.

Thanks Mr B. So, does NL mean "Non-Lady smith?"

My understanding is the “NL” meant "non-logo" or “non-LadySmith”.

Mr 310,
I phoned the shop when I got home and it was already being held for a pending sale.

Thanks for the recon. It's probably for the best, as my defense budget needs to be replenished, but I can never say 'no' to a Smith auto.
