I was wanting to purchase some additional clips for my revolver but I was not certain where to start. I think I heard some good stuff about Ranch but again, I am not a Clip expert...

The revolver is a S&W M&P R8 (627 I think) 8 shot .357.

S&W, of course - http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_766004_-1_757842_757839_757837_ProductDisplayErrorView_N, but they say those are for their 'Performance Center' guns.

Since .357 is rimmed, one supposes your cylinder is milled to accept the clip.

If it's speed loaders use either Jett loaders or Safariland Comp IIIs.

Ranch Products. Ranch supplies the full moon clips to S&W.
Ranch had a table at the Costa Mesa show last weekend and will be at the Phoenix show.

Check with California Competition Works, he carries Ranch Products full moon clips,in addition to a bunch of other revolver accessories.

The Ranch Products clips work best with Federal and Remington brass,Winchester brass is too tight.

I've tried the plastic clips in my .45 revolver, I didn't care for them. I'm sticking with the metal Ranch Products clips.

Both Ranch and Heathco are good products, Heathco makes them in stainless steel as well, but they run close to $60 IIRC.

You can find a phone number for Ranch by Googling, I phoned for some clips and placed an order. I asked for the addie to send the check and was told that they would ship right then, without receiving the check. Strange way to do business, but I certainly paid up.

Kinda like the ol' hand shake is good deal.

I believe that the plastic ones are called Rimz and they are okay in certain instances, but not for competition. They supposedly load easier and don't require a loading/demooning tool, just your fingers. Never tried them though, just passing information.
