Very interesting idea from 1908. The barrel slides back on the round and hits a fixed firing pin.

One you can actually afford to buy is the Schwarzlose blow-forward pistol. They go for the 600-900 range in fireable condition.

The Hinos sell for $10-18K. WAY out of my price range. A video of it firing would have been awesome- it's an available caliber after all (schwarzlose pistols are also chambered in .32).

Interesting...I wonder how accurate "blow forward" designs are.

It's hard to imagine somebody going to a gun store and buying this for anything other than a novelty.

Do records survive of how many were actually made and sold?

Cool gun!

Interesting...I wonder how accurate "blow forward" designs are.

accuracy was probably a non issue at the time...Japanese soldiers primarily used pistols for point blank back of the head executions only.

Wow, I never knew those existed. Pretty much the exact reverse of JMB's design. Interesting.

Accuracy would just depend how well the barrel is fitted to the pistol.

As far as the Schwarzlose goes, the design is functional, but is not as reliable as a standard recoil or blowback operated pistol.
There's too much extra crap going on at the same time. One of the reasons no one does it that way anymore.

Felt recoil is- strange.

If the bullet traveling through the barrel causes it to move forward i cant see how these would be acurate at all.
