It seems that it is hard to find an 18 inch 1:8 Twist double fluted rifle length gas system stainless steel barrel in 5.56/.223, I have looked everywhere but no body had it in stock, anybody know where I can find a good quality one readily in stock?

I have tried contacting Loki weapons system, but they sucked in customers service, tried to order through their website but the website DOES not Work, emailed them and they responded once, then tried to order through email and they won't respond at all, so I don't know how they are going to stay in business.

Do you have the link?

Found the barrel at Midway but it's a mid length gas system, but I prefer the rifle length gas system.

You would have to have it fluted though. But it's a bad @ss barrel.

Have you checked out White Oak Armament?

It's a little long, but Bravo Company sells a 20" stainless (black nitride coating and fluting are options), threaded, 1:8 and hand lapped for $300. Replaced my old 24" varminter barrel with this and worked up a hand load with 77g that shoots 1/2" groups at 220y. Being that it is a BCM barrel the manufacturer is unknown. Great deal for the price.

^ Last time I called there was a 6-8 week backlog.

I would call or email rainier and see if they can get it done for you. They offer to cut and thread barrels so I would imagine they could get it fluted also.

Or ADCO is always a safe bet. They do great work.

Yeah, that place is pretty much a custom/niche shop.

When I ordered my first service rifle upper, the wait time was about 16 weeks.

If you have the time, it's really worth it!

A Rainier sales Rep replied that they don't offer the 18 inch stainless steel fluted barrel.

You can buy a longer one and have Randall (ar15barrels) here on Calguns cut it down for you. I'm not sure if he can do fluting so pm him. I've seen his prices and very very cheap..

Blackhole Weaponry (http://www.blackholeweaponry.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=21&osCsid=606f293004172e9452673d3048431fba) can make you a barrel anyway you want it. Excellent barrels at an even better price.

You might want to check with E.R Shaw. I heard that they make the barrel for the Stag 3G which has the same features you want. You can check with stag too. I'm just not sure if they sell barrels separately.

I would love to order one from E.R.Shaw, I like the twist fluting (they own the patent), but I have tried to contact them twice already and both times they never responded to my inquiry.

What sort of rifle do you want to build that you think 18", rifle gas and fluted 1:8 twist is the way to go? If weight savings/soft recoil is what you're after you can get it many different ways. Like powder choice, muzzle brake, heavier buffer, lightweight handguards/stock...

It would be an AR15 rifle for 3 gun, that's the reason I want a rifle length gas system.

Get a 14.5" with a brake, more than enough energy to sling 77g at 450 yards on long shots.

Why a 14.5 inch barrel then pinning it with a muzzle devise?

18 inch barrel is the way to go for a 3 gun built AR!

Knife Edge

3-gun is mostly close quarter with a few 200 to the occasional 450y shot. 14.5" is a great length when running around.

JP makes a nice 18" 600$ for barrel, adj block, bolt and brake. So not a bad price when you add it all up. Brownells and Midwayusa carry them.

If you're on a budget and want it lightweight AR15performance has a 16" 8twist pencil barrel, nitrided for 200$. Or get a 16-18" rainier select for 200$, they have a 90day satisfaction guarantee. If it doesn't shoot return it for an ultra match or white oak.
