Just wondering how many of you are members of a 1911-specific forum, and which ones you find most helpful. These are the first results on google:

1911forum.com
1911addicts.com
m1911.org

Recommendations? I'm picking up my first 1911 (RIA Tactical) this weekend and would like to get active on a good 1911 forum (preferably one where they won't chastise me for not spending $3k on a Wilson Combat).

1911forum.com is a good place to go and chit chat about 1911's. m1911.org is where all the experts are at. If you have really technical questions, they can probably answer them. Plus, m1911.org has a lot of downloads as far as schematics, manuals, engineering drawings, etc. for the 1911. Have fun with your new 1911.

I like 1911forum but I agree that m1911.org is where more of the pros are at. I think there is also forum more 1911 gunsmithing orientated but I forgot what it was.

m1911.org - very nice and extremely knowledgeable folks.

Louder Than Words also rocks. Pistolsmiths' (primarily) site that allows others to read/write.

Between the two sites one can find lots of reasons to need a second income...

Join all the forums! Take what you want from each one. Each forum has it's own strengths and weaknesses.

Personally, I prefer the 1911forum.com, have met quite a few knowledgeable and friendly people there.

Screen name is the same there as here.

Although 1911forum.com have a good amount of very knowledgeable and helpful 1911 members. 1911forum.com is a joke! All you ever read are good reviews. Write a bad review on their sponsored products and you will be blocked. What good is a forum when all reviews are sugar coating their sponsored products? No Thanks! That's why I am here! Don't even go there if you are trying to do a research on which 1911 are better in your price range because all their sponsors only build perfect 1911.

1911forum.com - different name
m1911.org - same name

I agree what most others have said. You can find good info on both sites if you look around. I love 1911s.

Why do I prefer 1911forum over m1911? Well, right now there are:

Current 1911forum users: 2210 (655 members and 1555 guests)

Current m1911 users: 206 (19 members and 187 guests)

It's pretty basic that you're going to get a little more in the way of opinions and input on the busier site.

Lol, you must have been banned there for some tomfoolery.

Nobody gets "blocked" there for a bad review

:D I actually only got warned on a non 1911 issue. i don't see a issue for warning others but they said it was one sided. This was a similar post and i even had a nicer tone there. It's still here! Like I am. We need a 1911 only forum here to lure in more 1911 pros.

I don't see my 1911 reviews there anymore either. What's wrong with me saying how I felt about my own gun? You may have a flawless gun but my same exact gun have issue(s).

A Wilson Combat rep is on 1911forum.com on a dedicated WC forum. I registered there because I have a WC on order ;-)
