Just picked up a sig sp2022 in 9mm. I really like it. Only problem is that the slide does not lock back on the last shot. The mag it came with says sig Sauer on it but its made in Italy. Does anyone have any idea why it's not holding the slide back?

It could be one of a few different things, bad magazine, riding the mag release with your thumb, or it just requires a short break in period. Id advise you clean it really well, grease the rails really well, and try again with quality ammo.

More often than not, guns that fail to go to slide lock usually have their users riding the slide lock catch with their thumbs as previously mentioned.

I honestly never even thought about that. I have big hands. Ill try to re adjust my grip and see if that helps. Thanks guys.

The easiest way to test is to shoot it left handed.

Just to check that it isn't a slide stop or magazine follower problem, manually rack the slide with an empty magazine inserted. If the slide locks back, they are both fine
