View Full Version : New MMG's "OD Green & Desert Tan"

07-26-2007, 7:15 PM
I am having a small batch of grips made in these colors (20 grips in each color). I am posting this to gauge interest. I have not received them yet, but most likely I will get them in a few weeks.

How many of you would be up for these colors? They will cost the same as the current Black grips. I have had people request these colors in the past and I don't want to order a bunch and have nobody buy them.

Are you guys still interested?

Here is a rifle that Prc329 built by painting the grip OD Green. Looks cool.

I would go for an OD grip. I like variety.

OD would be sweet.

monsterman, you tainted your results by showing that rifle. :D

I didn't have a Desert Tan rifle pic.

Also, you guys can pick more than one in the poll.

What kind of paints are people using for their own paintjobs? Ace Hardware rattlecan stuff or something different?

Flat Dark Earth:D

I sent an email to my manufacturer tonight asking for Coyote Brown and Flat Dark Earth. So there will hopefully be 4 new colors.

OD Green
Desert Tan
Coyote Brown
Flat Dark Earth

Hopefully he can track down the colors for me.

I'd get one in Coyote Brown

monsterman since you already have the basic mold i have no idea why you arnt expanding to uzis, mp5/h&k , fals, id worry about color later , a can of spray paint can do that

The mold is made out of steel. I can't change it to fit other rifles. I can change the color only. That is why I am seeing if anyone wants these other colors.

For me to make grips for other rifles, they need to be made from scratch to fit the rifle. It isn't like I can just modify the mold to fit other rifles.

I wish it was that easy.

What about OSHA Orange?

Or Safety Yellow...?

It seems like that would make the firearm safer for use in California.

But seriously, I have four of the black, I guess a tan or brown would look nice on my Calguns lower with the A2 Walnut buttstock.

OD or Coyote Brown would be cool. I'll vote for OD since you don't have CB. I don't have the money for any builds right now, but would like the color options if I get creative on future builds.:)

I would be interested in an OD and a coyote brown. The brown would fit better with a walnut stock AK I am putting together.

i've always wondered why you didnt have other colors of your product! its only natural that you make OD and tan variants of your MMG. it will definitely pay off in the long run. hey, lots of us dont like boring all black rifles :)

It was a little hard to find the exact pantone color for this process. We finally tracked it down and hopefully we can get some new colors going.

Don't have any AR's (impatiently waiting for FAL MMG's :) ), but I would think both tan and OD would have a good following. Lots of folks playing with colored forearms and stocks.

Nothing like playing Barbie dress up with your black rifle. :D

Wow, the Desert Tan is winning. I would have thought that the OD Green would have been much more sought after.

I will most likely make both anyway.

I was thinking more along the lines of neon green, bright red, and queer purple myself :)
