I picked up a used Ruger 10/22 about a year ago, which I absolutely love. It has a Clark .720 Midweight Blue barrel on it. I'm looking for a muzzle guard that will fit so I can safely clean the barrel from the muzzle end. Anyone know of anything out there that will work? (Yes, I do use a boresnake already, but have read that it's useful to also clean with a rod from time to time in order to give it a thorough cleaning.) Thanks!

How do these compare in cleaning effectiveness against a traditional cleaning rod? Are they equally good?

Cleaning rimfire barrels is overdone. A clean chamber is good for semi autos. Get a good chamber brush system or drill a hole in the receiver rear and get the chamber breach area clean then a pull through patch system like Otis or Bore Snake. :)

Minimum, if any, lube on 10/22 action (GunZilla is the latest greatest for them). Forget the barrel until 5000 or more fired.
