What is a good resource both book and web for information on the M14 platform? I just bought one and need to start learning about the guy while I wait for it to arrive and dros to be finished.

Good place to fine 10 round mags? I want to keep it as a "battle rifle" but will probably be looking into a synthetic stock. Any suggestions?

Here's a good website:

The Firing Line (http://m14forum.com)

You can find out info about books at the same website.

The Kuhnhausen manual is a good reference book for everything from little fixes to big problems. I'd recommend it.

A million +'s for anything by Jerry Kuhnhausen...that's the first book (maybe the only one) you'll need;)

They are fun. I bought my mags from CDNN for $15/ea.

I'll try to find the name of the place, but I know someone sells synthetic used stocks for ~$30. They're in shotgun news. I'm planning on picking one up to paint up fun. It's probably worth it if you're getting the wood.
