So far, two different Walmarts, Bass Pro, Dicks, and Big 5....no CCI Mini Mags Is there a shortage? I was hoping to come accross the 1600 rd + ammo can but I can't even find 100 packs.

I noticed shortage too; even online the mini-mags disappeared from reasonably-priced stores. But about a week ago the situation online improved. You can buy them at sgammo.com and palmettostatearmory.com. The latter still has $5.99 deal - grab it while you can :)

I bought them :)
Two cans in the past week. Local walmarts stink for ammo so bought some.

Both walmarts I went into only had one can

I picked up 2 cases at the last gun show... and may pick up a couple more at the one in Costa Mesa.

I have noticed that it is harder and harder to find Mini Mags at any of my LGS. The stores that do have them are asking a premium as well.

That's what I've been seeing lately.

I couldn't find any locally either so I bought quite a few from Palmetto state armory. They were one of the few who had them in stock at a reasonalble price online. From what I heard they are the only reliable ammo for my semi auto handgun.

I see the same thing with CCI Blazers in the 500 round boxes (not the bulk packed 525's). This summer I was able to pick them up for as low as $14-$15, now I see them on rare occasion for $22+.

sgammo does have the CCI mini-mags. Local walfart does not.

I picked up one of the ammo cans with 1600 rnds from the Wally World on McKinley in Corona, Inland Empire, this afternoon. Paid $98.00 for it. Left one in the case for the next person.

Dicks had Winchester M-22, 2,000 rounds with can for $99. Is that stuff any good?

From what I have heard, the M-22 lies somewhere between the bulk stuff and Mini Mags. I actually just bought 1k from Cabela's to try out myself, but haven't made it to the range yet.

The palmetto deal (still on for... 2 hours?) at $6.00/100 is slightly cheaper then the $98/1600 you'll never find in stock at Walmart... although no can and you pay for shipping.

I also bought a box of the 36 grain "Choot 'em!" box with Troy Landry on the outside. I'm such a whore for advertising.

I just broke in my .22 conversion with it last weekend - 300 rounds without a single malfunction. Mini Mag seems a little cleaner and more accurate, but the M-22 seems pretty decent.

I buy them from www.surplusammo.com/ They are in Wa. state. $6.50 box, shipping to N. Ca is about $13/1000 rds. and no sales tax.
Can not find CCI mini mags locally.

www.surplussammo.com in WA has the CCI Standard Velocity 40 grain round nose listed at $6.49/100. They also have the CCI Mini-Mag 36 grain copper plated hollow points at $24.89/375.

What I don't see are any of the CCI Mini-Mag 40 grain copper plated round nose ammo that I've been shooting for over 40 years. So far I haven't been able to find these. . Nobody in SoCal seems to have them. What happened?

My local Wally Mart has the Winchester M-22. I guess I'll give them a try.

Kelster,

Just get the "Blazer" brand of CCI cuz it's the same bullet except for the copper coating.

I think it is part of the standard election ammo frenzy. Availability should return soon, though prices might still suck.

My solution I'd to try and get my rimfires to like fed bulk!!

Blazer bulk and minimags are not the same.

Anyway, no I haven't seen a shortage of minimags at the recent SF gun show, stores, or online. What I have seen pop up lately is minimags in bulk packs with that "choot 'em!" crap on there(guy from some gator hunting reality show I think?), so maybe you're looking past them and not noticing due to the packaging change?

$15 shipping to CA and I just purchased 2k rounds last night. Already have a tracking number for shipping. Thanx Palmetto. :D

I asked the Walmart sporting goods guy, it's not even in their system anymore so there won't be rainchecks or any other sales of it. weird how it showed up for a month or two then disappeared from stock. Since they are impossible to find, it can't be that they aren't selling well! I wonder who makes the decisions on this, or if some people panicked about the vast ammo cache provided by a single 1600 round can of .22lr and insisted that Walmart stop selling it.

It's far more likely that they can't get enough from the manufacturer or distributor to sell in their stores to make setting aside a facing(shelf space) worth it, when they could put something else up on the shelf instead that they could stock regularly.

...I actually meant asking for a raincheck from Palmetto. I've given up on my local Walmart since they stopped selling ammo in my county.

Walmart in Manteca had a bunch of the 1600 cans the other day. My wife grabbed me a few and said she left at least a half dozen cans. She came across it as it was being loaded onto the shelf so Walmart apparently is still getting it.

i dros'd my 22 on 12/28. cci 22LR mini mags were the only 22lr avail on PSA.

crazy thing is i didnt order any until 1-5-13. then a day or so later it was OOS

Friday the 11th PSA had 22LR mini mags in stock but was OOS in just a matter

of hours :( but as far as availabilty it seems sold out @ alot places aswell :(

They come in and out of stock from time to time. Walmart is hit or miss. Unless you have to shoot thousands of round of .22lr its worth waiting it out. On that note I did pick up 17 boxes at PSA (any more boxes would make shipping go up tremendously) I was at Center Mass shooting Range yesterday in Vacavile, and they had a huge wall CCI Minimags, but only allowed people to buy 1 box of ammo per person per day. I don't know the price though

I must have clicked the "notify me" button a hundred times this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to get something before too long. If anyone finds some online or San Diego and feels like sharing (after they have stocked up, of course), I'd certainly appreciate it.

I was hoping the current madness would pass by the rimfire section but evidently not.
