Looking to upgrade by stock 10/22 barrel. Looking for 16.5/18.0 inch, stainless and flutted in some way, .920 dia.

This is a typical rabbit/target gun. Looking to see who has a good sale this week. Any sightings out there? Thanks for the help!

What do you think between the Green Mountain and Shaw barrels? Splitting hairs ...are they both about equal quality? With stainless, I'm concerned about the surface workmanship as stainless shows flaws much more than blued.

I have a felling that somebody as shot these. Any preference? They're only $20 apart. Which would you choose?

Their server is back up. Still no opinions on these two barrels?

Whistle Pig
Tactical Solutions
Green Mountain

Those are the barrel's I've used and I would recommend them in that order. The only one who does a fluted stainless is Green Mountain, but I can attest to the fact that the whistle pig and tactical solutions are as stable and accurate as the green mountain target barrels.

I've seen shaw barrels and have a friend who had problems with them. I personally would choose green mountain over shaw.

My link show the fluted Shaw barrel. Also, not that I'm questioning your personal experience, but it's hard to find someone who's had problems with a Shaw. They're a well known quality barrel manufacturer. But nobody's perfect.

I know the targets. Question was does anybody know of an existing sale or deal. Google is also not always perfect:D!

Sorry, I meant I had only played with the fluted GM barrel.

There's a couple nice ones for sale right now on rimfirecentral that fit what you're looking for. There's usually someone there who has access to deals too.

A Shaw barrel works for me. Put one on this build.

I've heard nothing but good things about Feddersen Barrels: https://www.1022rifle.com/buy/barrel

Simple and a little cheaper than competitors barrels.

Take a look at the 10/22 barrels page on eabco.com. Any of those barrels will be a tack driver. Just a matter of how much you want to spend.

I have a 18" Green Mountain Stainless barrel on my 10/22; love it!

Call Green Mountain and ask them if they have any "scratch and dent" barrels available. They will sell for less than $100 shipped, and you wont be disappointed with their quality.

I paid $80 shipped in February. Found the sale posted on rimfirecentral.com
