"Hunt vs the state of California is one to watch.

Ed Hunt is the Fresno Co. District Attorney who sued to overturn the AWB because the laws are so convoluted and impossible to enforce.

That case was supposed to have been set for earlier this year but I haven't heard any updates on it. "

I found a link here on calguns, last post was in May.

The trial date was changed to Apr 23, 2007 and then continued for at least six months so it looks like we're in a holding pattern until fall.

I just want to add a different slant to the same sentiment.

Equating ignorance with stupidity is an incorrect assumption. I am pleasantly surprised by the insightful questions that are asked by intelligent people who initially ask presumably dumb questions which are properly answered. Once an information gap is filled thoughtful and intelligent people thrive. Give them that opportunity.

True.
But corrective spankings are delivered with temperence and love, that is when children learn.
When they are spanked in anger or cruelly then it is not corrective but punative and all the child learns is anger and hate.

You guys got it all wrong.

Sauce:
Mayonaise/Mustard/garlic/lime juice

BBQ hamburger
Slather sauce on both buns.
Swiss cheese on each bun
Slice of ham
Kosher dill pickle slice

Assemble and wrap in foil.

Place back on BBQ - set brick on top. Put it in indirect heat and let each side slow cook for about 2 minutes a side to brown the buns a tad.(Time depends on how hot fire)

Unwrap and enjoy.

Kinda like me. Not a huge catsup fan, as I like my catsup adultered properly, in the form of Heinz 57 steak sauce - I guzzle that stuff.

(BTW: the $1.29 bottle of identical-appearing private-labelled steak sauce at WalMart appears to be *exactly the same* as Heinz 57 in taste and consistency. Heinz 57 often sells for $3-$5/bottle depending on size.

Bill, I love Lea & Perrins and A1, but I can't even bear to put them on any decent slab of meat, which tastes truly awesome without any additives except a light sprinkle of salt AFTER it's done cooking...

I'm thinking pan seared ribeye, skirt/flank steak, NY, or any other Prime cut... putting any additional flavoring on them is like a crime.

only when its cold.i also eat ketchup on turkey, fries, fried and baked chicken, steak(not tri tip off the bbq thats not right)potatos that have been cooked and put in the refer

Try this. On a plate mix some coarse sea or kosher salt w/ cumin, black pepper, and garlic powder. Roll the steak EDGES in the mixture and then cook. This is best if steaks aren't so big that you can't have some of the "crust" with each bite. You can also use the spice coating for prime rib and do this.

For great steaks without a grill; heat your oven to 350*. Use an oven safe ribbed pan and heat over med heat until pan is hot. Add steaks (edged as above) and cook until pan lets go and you can flip the steaks. Once the steaks are flipped, immediately put pan in oven and "bake" for 5-7 mins or until desired level of doneness.

Using this method you can have well done steaks without them being jerky dry.

Maybe we need a guns and cooking forum?

That sounds pretty good. I'd personally leave the salt out of it, but I may have to try that.

If it ain't a bleedin', I ain't gonna be a feedin'... I like my steaks RARE thank you. :)

Pan fry, maximum heat, sear it on each side for a minute, two minutes each side if it's > 1" thick, until it's beautifully dark brown carmelized.... then turn to medium low heat for another 3-4 minutes on each side. Pull it out of the pan, put it on a plate and let the steak sit for about 5-7 minutes so it can finish cooking, and viola! you have a beautifully rare steak with the most minimal 'well done' seared sides.

It's a beautiful thing, and a good rib-eye like this will practically melt in your mouth.

I cant stand Ketchup / Catsup mainly for the sugar and or vinegar content.

I love tomato sauce and other tomato products as I'm Married to a lovely Italian woman that is the best cook I have ever known.

Ketchup + Salt + Pepper, thoroughly mixed is great for french fries.

Any other use of ketchup is basically involuntary.

I like tomatos whole and I'll eat them rare. I do not like them cooked (unless they're burned black) and do not like them as a garnish on anything, even salad.

Yeah, a little salt and pepper on it after it's done... though sometimes I'll put the salt on after the sides are seared/sealed...

I absolutely love the taste of A1 steak sauce, but I wouldn't dare put it on a piece of naturally great tasting meat.

IBTL!

I do my steaks/burgers really simply: fresh ground pepper and garlic powder rubbed into both sides of the meat. I've sauteed chicken breasts the same way. No salt, since it sucks the juices out of the meat.

Inside the burgers, I put finely diced onions, chopped garlic, and a little parsley. Swiss cheese, a leaf of Butter or Red Leaf lettuce, a thinly sliced tomato, and a swipe of mayo on either side makes it perfect. I've also done mushrooms in a red wine reduction to go on the burgers...

I like a little ketchup on my fries from Wendys or In-N-Out, but not from anywhere else. I'll eat the other kinds with mustard and mayo mixed half-and-half.
