"Constitutional rights may not be infringed simply because the majority of the people choose that they be."
-- Supreme Court of the United States
Source: Westbrook v. Mihaly 2 Cal. 3d 756

Remember that the constitution was put in place as checks and balances for the government. People can be misled, corrupted and swayed by other people to vote for the wrong thing, the constitution was put in place so that the government can't.

I.e. popular vote should never remove our rights to bear arms.

Except that, if a majority convinces their representatives to amend/change the Constitution, they can.

At which time the actual purpouse of the 2A naturally manifests itself.

Remember the original motto of the USA was intended to be: REBELLION TO TYRANTS IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD

Had they not changed it perhapse people would not have been so easily lead down the current path.

Well that was then and this is now.

In that time the church also didn't bend over like it does of late with the IRS tax exempt status's they have now.

The church or most of the doctrines want you to follow what they call mans law and dont mind if you become "Of the Body" LOL IE one of the collective.

back then in the 1700's and 1800's the church wanted man to have nothing to do with the government social programs and their licensing but since the church has taken their evil numbers its ok for you to do likewise.
