View Full Version : Best price in San Diego for 22LR?
11-02-2012, 11:26 AM
Anyone have advice for places to look for 22LR in San Diego?
I am hoping to get the best quality and quantity that $20 can get me.
I checked for the Federal Bulk pack at Wally World, but they were sold out as of yesterday.
Big 5 has a deal on the Remington "Golden Bullet" 525 value pack (have heard some reviews say that this stuff isn't as great a CCI nor Federal though). The sale goes through Saturday at $22.99:
I am hoping to go to the range on Tuesday (yes, election day), so it would be nice to have plenty of rounds by then.

I would check another Walmart or here in the classifieds.
P.S.....Stay with the Federal Bulk pack. It runs great in all my 22's.

Thanks Mr. B. Is there any particular walmart that you regularly see the Fed Bulk Pack in stock at? I have been to the one by Fry's twice and called once to check and they don't seem to have it. The guy in sporting goods said that they get ammo shipments daily, but they never know what it will be, nor can they request anything. The one in Clairemont by the 805 didn't have any either when I called to check yesterday.

Big5 prices are generally not that great when it comes to ammo. Seems heavily marked up then discounted to near regular price…
Remington Golden Bullet bulk packs are one of the only .22LR I have had issues with, so I havent used them in a long time.
I do use a lot of Blazer .22LR and Federal Bulk Pack. I also have some of that Winchester .22LR but I like the Blazer and Federal better.
Blazer .22LR I got from Turners for like $16 bucks a box out the door when it was on sale. And I got a bunch of it =)
My Ruger 10/22 seems to really like that stuff too.

Try calling the one on college, they keep their stuff pretty well stocked.

.22lr is pretty cheap that when ever i get a chance i buy a brick here and there. I have quite a bit now that i dont see myself buyin any .22lr for quite a while. Most of the time i buy from walmart in Hemet when i go visit my parents.
