First off, I would like to thank everyone who was involved with the progress we made. I know I havn't posted in a while, but rest assure, I have been doing alot of reading. My question is, would it be possible to send letters to the the 58DA's and all the law enforcement agencies in Kalifornia, to clarify our situation, in order to prevent future arrests? If we send out letters, they will have to look up the information themselves and maybe instruct officers, to prevent future arrests. Maybe the laws will be so confusing, they can press the DOJ and we can see further results. Just an idea I have been thinking about.

I have just spent the day talking to the Los Angeles DA's Office about my grip. Their only response after a lengthy discussion was that they would turn to the Attorney Generals office for guidance/clarification.
They said that each of the 58 DA's could disagree with each other.
I have been trying to work this angle lately, but it's led nowhere so far.

Whether they're approved or not, that you're doing that makes me want to buy a few more MMGs.

MM, just a thought. If we can ID the firearms expert in each large PD or Sheriff's Office & send them a MMgrip on an airsoft lower & get their opinion. Include all paperwork (cases that were dismissed, etc). I wonder if they'll respond. Maybe do it as a thesis for someone's Phd.:D

If nothing else, all that stuff would make good evidence when they DO try to prosecute, to show that before they popped this law abiding citizen, even they didn't know what was legal and what was illegal. If the DA exhibits uncertainty and confusion, how is an average citizen supposed to guess right? How can the DA now claim to know that a particular configuration is illegal out of the blue?
I guess I am so old that I can remember when if you avoided killing someone unnecessarily, didn't make any unauthorized withdrawals from a bank you had no account with, didn't take your neighbors cattle, avoided beating up women and children and paid your taxes, you could pretty much be sure you could not be prosecuted for anything.

Bill W attempted this early on (last year) with his own "notice to law enforcement" explaining our new interpretation of the the AW laws.
The problem is that Bill, "John Q Public" or their legal representative's opinions don't carry the weight of the CA AG, CA DOJ, the local DA or CA courts.

Bill is right, the CA NRA will be looking for help on this soon enough. Last I talked with them they wanted to hold off doing anything until time ran out on the new regs they were pushing on us and its only been a couple of weeks since that happened..if your looking for more info about it Id call the CA NRA and get the info from your local members becuase that way your getting the most updated info on the fight.:chris:
