This painting was brought back from Japan when we were stationed over there, below is some history on the bridge itself. The painting is done on six wood panels and they are attached to the ceramic frame. It is in excellent condition and would be a great addition for someone who likes Japanese art. The painting itself depicts scenes from everyday life going back hundreds of years, to the days of the Samurai. It is approximately five feet by three feet.

The Kintai Bridge is a historical wooden arch bridge, in the city of Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.

The bridge was built in 1673, spanning the beautiful Nishiki River in a series of five wooden arches, the bridge is located on the foot of Mt.Yokoyama, at the top of which lies Iwakuni Castle.

Declared a National Treasure in 1922, Kikkou Park, which includes the bridge and castle, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan. For nearly three hundred years the many versions of the bridge stood without the use of metal nails. They achieved this by careful fitting of the wooden parts and by building up thick girders by clamping and binding them together with metal belts. The main wooden parts of the bridge would then be covered by sheets of copper.

Custom made Japanese entertainment center. Made from Maple, approximately 12 feet long and 7 feet tall. In excellent condition. We were stationed in Japan and decided to buy and ship this home with us, unfortunately it is too big for our downstairs family room, so we have been using it upstairs but would like something a little smaller. It has hand painted/carved pictures done in fine detail and inlaid with silver. This item is very unique and can only be imported from oversseas, you will not find anything like this stateside. The entertainment center can easily fit a 70 inch TV screen. It comes apart into 4 pieces when moving.

Custom Framed Oil Painting (approximately 35 x 22 inches) of Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory, Australia. Kakadu National Park covers nearly 20,000 square kilometres of exceptional natural beauty and unique biodiversity, Kakadu is one of the very few places World Heritage listed for both its cultural and its natural values.

I bought this painting at an auction around 15 years ago. This particular artist was a local artist doing paintings for charity and auctioning them off. His name is Wayne Clements, his website is wayneclements.com.au if you take a look at his website you will get an idea of his work etc. He really does some amazing work.

He has one painting of Kakadu National Park on his website selling for $4500.00 it is approximately the same size as this one, just the scene is slightly different.

This painting is an original and is signed by the artist.
