View Full Version : Shootin Shack Guns in Elk Grove

I just found a new gun store in Elk Grove. It's called Shootin Shack Guns. It's by Strikes bowling alley on Laguna Blvd. What a cool place. Lots of guns but more importantly the guys working there were friendly and helpful. They buy guns and will take trade-ins on new stuff. I brought in an old shotgun that I had and traded it in on a new Glock 22. I'll definitely shop there again!

Yeah this is a great new store! They take guns on consignment too. These guys really know their stuff, and gave me some really good advice on finding parts for my Barreta 1951. I've been looking for parts for this gun for over 15 years, so I'm excited to try these new leads!
Plus, I had a great time just looking around and learning more about some of the cool firearms they have on hand. I'll be bringing my freinds and fellow collectors! I know I definitely have some new guns in my future.

I live in EG and was driving to the cleaners when I saw their sign. I stopped in and realized we have a new gun shop in EG. Pretty cool stuff. I spoke with Jay over there and got to know what they are bringing to EG. I'll definitely stop in and check their stock often.

I stopped by there for the second time yesterday to pickup some 9mm defense rounds for my mom. Great friendly people there. :)
Afterwards I stopped by the other new store down the street for the first time. I got the sense that they service more of mall ninja crowd. Not that it's bad, just not for me. They were pretty busy with the panic AR buyers.
It sure didn't feel as welcoming as the Shooting Shack. Here is a shop that was more well rounded with a selection of classic to modern firearms. Will definitely go back again.

I know a guy that works there. He told me about it when I was in the Army.

I saw their sign on my way home from work one day, since then I bought a couple of guns from them, really knowledgeable staff, very helpful
Have done a few PPT's there and were pleasant about it. Reading posts about how some LGS's don't like performing these due to time constraints or low money maker it was nice to see one actually perform the service. Will definitely do business again there and not just for PPT's.
good to know! i'll check them out and see if they can get some pricing on a CZ as i'm hoping to get one soon, if the price is right! :D

Highly recommend this shop! I brought my mom in there to look for a revolver and the clerk was very helpful. He spent 30 minutes letting her hold and examine several different models, and gave advice for her specific needs. There was no pressure to purchase, but they did offer to order something they thought would work but they didn't have in inventory. I noticed similar attention for a couple that came in after us.
Since I was there I thought I'd look around for me. I noticed a Walther P22 I was interested in and the price was very competitive, so I bought it. The paperwork was taken care of quickly and we were on our way.
Anyway, the shop has a decent selection and good prices, but the customer service is top notch. Worth a look if you are in the area.

Which store? The U-haul/RV/etc place?
I'm guessing it was MTG Firearms on Franklin and Laguna.
