I just installed a LED, corded puck light kit into my safe. The 3 light kit was $29.98 at Lowes and has a corded on off switch. The pucks were attached to the fabric of my safe with the hook sided velcro. I used one puck above my top shelf and the other two to illuminate the gun compartment. The lights are bright and light up my 55x36x26 with no problems.

I opted for the LED kit which is more than a Xenon light type kit, because the Xenon lights got fairly warm and I did not want to chance that kind of heat source inside my safe in the event I forgot to turn off the lights and closed the door.

I picked up a 15 foot rope light in the xmas section for under $25 7 watt led's. I have not put it on a switch and may not as wattage is so low.

I initially bought a LED rope light, but it did not put out enough light to illuminate everything like the puck lights do. The puck lights are way brighter than the rope lights that I purchased and was simpler to install.

I got a reel of LED lights from Amazon for $10 and connected them to a micro switch and a 12V Powers supply. About $17, 1/2 hour of my time and it is the nicest safe light you can get.
