I looked on their site and they list it as a part number....Anyone know where you can buy it? How much do they go for?

Haven't seen it elsewhere, Armalite may be your only option.

From what I understand the AR30 brake will blast away anything to your sides.

True, but it is effective as a brake.

All brakes will first go on production rifles. My Ar30 is SUPPOSED to be here @ end of August. I ordered the rifle 13 months ago. Armalite recently told me I'm about 1/2 way down on backorder list. All I can say, IMHO, is that the ONLY way you will even FIND one is if someone's AR30 KB's (highly unlikely); the brake survives; and they put it on E-BAY!!! Just curious, why do you need one?

I would also look at the JP Recoil Eliminator. ;)

what are you going to be mounting it on?
George at GAP said they don't go on straight.... and plus they are heavy.

+1 on what Randy said - JP recoil eliminator is a better way, it made my TRG42 in 338LM almost shootable with 250gr nato ammo.

I *think* he wants to put it on his Savage 10FP.

Wuss.:D

hey, I resemble that remark.

I got one of those coming in. My shoulder is very tender after shooting the last 3 weeks in a row.

That thing looks so hideous though! LOL

I want the AR30 brake cause it looks like a spaceship and I want everyone next to me to get knocked in the face when I shoot (especially prc329 and budd)

LOL.....Ive always loved how the brakes looked and always wanted one...Ill probably end up with something else though.

How is the OPS brake, or the other somewhat regular looking JP brakes?

Those 308's are vicious.

I have an OPS brake on my SPR. It is pretty good. Blast is not as hard as the Stag or YHM brake. Not sure how it would work on a 308.

An AR-30 in .338 lapua is on my list; any idea how to go about getting one of these things?

My local shop tried to look around as well as contact Armalite, to no result. If there's some backorder/waiting list, any idea how I'd get in on it?

Talk to my shoulder. The recoil itself is not that bad but over time it starts to tenderize me.

Bed Bath & Beyond probably sells those room dividers that foo foo people use in their fancy foo foo rooms...
Get the heavy wood ones, not the japanese style with the paper in them.

I've had the OPS inc, the Holland & the AI all on various 300wm's (or 7.62 x67mm NATO if you like :)

The ops and the holland were very good, the AI was the old single chamber style.

I've got a JP Enterprises Bennie Cooley Tactical compensator on my Har25/Noveske rifle. It is very stable and plenty loud.

Actually no. The Savage barrel is .82 or 3, I forget, and tapers back so you would need something for a .8 or so. That is what I measured with my calipers when ordering my brake.

I wonder what the OD is on the AR10 brake they have

Prc329
07-16-2007, 9:36 PM
I went and took some more measurements and the area on the barrel that would get the threads goes from .83 to .85 and right before the stock it is .96

I also took the time to adjust my die to 2.80. Will make perfect 2.8 rounds every time :D

They are 1.12" in diameter stepping down to 0.92" to match up with a bull barrel.
