I was wondering if any Calguns members own the Polish P64 pistol?

Turners has them this week in the weekly sales ad for $240
Is that a good price?

How do you like the P64?

Thank you for your help

I still think you're better off saving that money.

I own a couple of the P64s as well as some other 9x18 pistols.

I think it's too much when better pistols, like the CZ82 are available for about the same price. Of course, I don't know what a CZ82 costs in CA these days.

It is the 9x18 pistol I least like. The trigger is terrible and while I've seen them improved, I've never shot a good one. Many folks complain about the recoil but I'm not particularly sensitive to recoil. I do think it is pretty heavy given its size.

To give you an idea of my experience with them, here's a picture of my 9x18 pistols:

When I saw the add this week I did some quick searches online.

I decided if it was in any other caliber I'd get it, but since I currently don't have any other guns in that caliber I'll skip it.

Seems like a cool little old gun though.

I think i paid $150 for mine from J&G earlier this year. It's a fun little gun, but i think at 240 plus dros and taxes you are better off saving up for a police trade in glock. Plus the 9x18 ammo is not as readily available as the 9x19 is. Just my 2 cents.

I can totally understand the ammo situation that has been brought up

I currently own a Glock 23 Gen 2 which was a former LEO CCW

I own all of the currently available 9x18's like VegasND does and I concur, at $295.00 or so out the door they just are not that good of a deal. The double action trigger in them is pretty much as horrible as people say it is, it can be smoothed out with a $20.00 Wolf spring kit but it will still be stiff. I would recommend spending a little more money and seeing if you could come up with a CZ82. All that being said, the p64 is a well made, all steel pistol and mine have gone bang everytime and worked fine. If you look around there are aftermarket grips available for them as well.

How's the recoil of the P64 compare to the PA63?

They both recoil heavily and people often complain about them. Nobody ever shoots either one and remarks on them being good pistols. The Maks or CZs -- people sometimes say they like them and want one, but not the P64.

Cool, totally reliable little pocket autos. I like mine, they're just not for people with weak hands. Oh and don't dry fire 'em you'll break the firing pin.
