For those of you that couldn't join us last month for our inaugural event at LAX Firing Range, you have another opportunity to not miss out on an exciting evening of friends, guns, sand maybe Arby's? We had an awesome turnout last month even though it was a Wednesday, so lets keep up the momentum.

Join us at LAX Firing Range (not the airport) in Inglewood (927 West Manchester Blvd, Inglewood) on 11/7/2012 @ 7:00 PM. We're excited to team up with LAX, and they in turn have extended a discount of 10% off any in store factory ammunition to all Calgunners.

Parking is limited, but don't fret parking is allowed at the car wash next door after hours, and there are always the lovely "safe" streets of Inglewood.

Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:

Pistols - The occasional double tap is acceptable (but if it's get's out of line the privilege will be taken away), no holstered pistols, no drawing from a holster, no open carry (all standard indoor range safety rules apply)
Rifles - High Powered Rifles up to a 50 BMG are permitted with the use of range ammunition..
Shotguns - Shotguns are also permitted, again, only with the use of range ammunition.
Cost - $10, stay and shoot as long as you want!
*CalGunners get membership prices on ammo and rentals.
** LAX members are free to attend.
*** If you've never been to LAX you'll need to purchase a shooting card for $2. This is a one time fee for new (to the range shooters).

REMINDER: - When you're there, your actions represent the entire Calguns community. We should always take responsibility for our actions, and treat their facility with the utmost respect.

They'll be reserving several lanes for us on their main range, but we will have to share the range with other walk on shooters. If there are others present, I urge you to engage them in conversations about Calguns, and why you choose to attend these types of events. They have a huge "pro shop" with tons of items available for purchase as well as a couch and multiple TVs.

So, who's in? You know there is nothing better that you'd rather do on a Wednesday night than shoot some guns with fellow CalGunners!

Hope to see you there!

- RoundEye

P.S. If you're interested in volunteering your time and helping coordinate this shoot, or one like it in your area, contact me for details.

I'll actually be coming from work as well (Glendale), so we'll probably be fighting the same traffic. :(

Will the Takedown be ready by then? Can you do a long gun at LAX if it's .22LR?

Either way I already have a box of Wal-Mart 9mm for my Taurus. See you there, I'll put in for pizza and cokes.

Just confirmed with LAX this evening. They'll be waiting for us come next week at 7PM.

I'm not sure how we're suppose to know if you're rifle is going to be ready.... :D The LAX backstop can supposedly handle up to 50 BMG, so I think you're .22lr will be a ok. As far as food goes there is an Arby's next door we can all migrate to after unloading a bunch of lead. I'm not sure where the closest Costco is, so I'm not sure if pizza is something that can be easily undertaken.

The jail time for my ruger 10/22 takedown is over. And as for pizza, I know the area. There's one on my way there.

Only one more day, and its range time... Don't forget all Calgunners get 10% off all factory ammunition.

I'll check with Nolan and see if we can get the training room to hang out in for the pizza, and other shenanigans.

Lol don't tell me some peeps actually showed up at the airport in the past.

Hmmm I could make this. To hoard ammo or to expend ammo? That is the question...

We just received approval from Nolan to use the training room, so if you're willing pizza is a go. Just keep an eye on the number of attendees before you leave so you know how many to get. As of now it looks like one should be good enough, but maybe two if more people sign up.

Hey, I am very new to calguns and have never been to a meet up. I have two recently purchased firearms that I would love to come down to shoot. (I assume if they are allowing .50, .223 is ok?)

Having not even shot since it was purchased, would anyone be onsite that I could ask regarding a first cleaning, etc?

Well, we're typically there until close (10PM), so you're on the list.

Welcome, and yes .223/5.56 is OK, but you need to buy their ammo (we get a 10% discount). If nobody else will, I'll show you how to break it down. I assume its an AR platform?

Yes, its a pretty standard AR platform. I understand the basic breakdown of it, could just use some quick advice on the initial oiling and cleaning (pre-shooting). I completely appreciate it, I will try to make it down :)

I assume we can still just bring our own factory ammo and/or purchase factory ammo there for tonight, right? ie: dont have to purchase reloads?

(To be used in our own gun)

PS: Any reason why we dont have an event page on Facebook for this?

Handgun ammo you can bring your own factory or reloads. Only rifle ammo "has" to be purchased from them.

As for Facebook, not everyone is on there, but I guess I can try one for next month an see how it works out.

I have not been to any of calguns programs yet and as an outsider, I would had missed the single post regarding tonight event. With Facebook events we can both advertise, keep people updated and get a feedback as to who is coming. Its just a thought ;)
