Restrictions on tactical pens? Airports(flying), entering areas with metal detectors (other than airport). Anybody had any problems? CCW class recommended carrying one.

I know a guy who has been through airport security multiple times with a tactical flashlight. No one ever asked him about it so he figures its okay. Don't know about pens though.

Just dont carry the aluminum pen that looks like a stabbing weapon (spike). Although the use of any tactical pen would break the skin, there are some out there that could go right through a skull, those look like spikes, and although it is not sharp, its still a liability. Carry a thicker one..
Unless you are in a country thats not free at all - like england - they have no expectation of individual rights regarding warrentless searches or self defense -
security and law enforcement assume you are not able to use your hands, or impact weapons. you could carry all sorts of improvised impact weapons..
unbreakable umbrella, a mag-lite, baoding balls (look it up) and you would be fine.

I'm confused. What's with all the "welcome" posts? What did I miss?

^This is the welcome forum and the op should really have this in off topic to get more responses.
