What are lowers going for these days?

Have an upper that's been collecting dust for a few years, that I've decided to attach to a lower. Haven't purchased an AR lower for a few year, so decided to call around the local shops and see what's in stock.

Local shop is stocks Stag lowers $180 + $80 LPK + tax

Cruised down to the CGN FS section and the first lower I stumbled upon was some dude selling a RRA lower with parts kit for $550 (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=629507&highlight=lower)

Are these prices typical for a lower with LPK these days?

Heck, if people are paying $550 for a lower, then maybe I need to be disassembling and selling my AR's instead of putting together new ones.

I think the 550 parts kit plus lower would include the upper. I paid 99 for a stripped mega lower and got a lower build kit with stock grip buffer tube and lpk for 120 shipped so all together I paid 250 including dros for a complete lower with moe furniture.

A stripped lower shouldnt be much above 100, unless it has a fancy roll market or is an ambi billet super duper ninja spec blah blah.

But it is election season, so prepare for stupid

You can find lowers for around 100-120, LPKs for 60-80 online.

You can find lowers for as little as $59. You can get an LPK for $43.

$180 for a stripped lower is kinda steep... 100 bucks seems to be the going price for a good stripped lower.

That's what I paid for my CGN lower about 4-5 years ago. It's still just a piece of aluminum.

Guess I need to look around Sonoma County a bit more.

Depends on the rollmark
Other than PSA, most of the name brands stripped lowers are 150 at brick and mortar.
I seen a guy in here doing Spikes (non colorfill) for 115, color for 130 I think
The harder to find rollmarks go for more

No more than $100 sounds right to me, but I seriously would not spend more than that.

DROS cost aside of course.

I could care less about rollmarks (as long as it's not Blackthorne).
Most are all pretty much the same spec.

B2 used to sell the S&W M&P's for about 120. I'd check markels also, hes usually very well priced.

Anyone know of a place in the Bay Area that has stripped lowers? I called US Firearms CO earlier today; I like those guys a lot, but I don't feel like throwing down $150-155 for a lower just because it says S&W or LMT...

JD Machine routinely has sales and they also have Military Branch Roll Stamps if you served our Country and want to display such.

On a side note, I am getting ready to get a lower, does CalGun get anything if I purchase this lower?

$180 for a stripped lower is steep...unless its a Noveske, LMT or other higher end brand.

You should be able to get a lower in the $90~$100 range fairly easy. Didn't PSA just have a sale in the $70 range? And LPKs can be had for $50 and up from a reputable seller like PSA or Riflegear. Keep an eye open for the sales unless you are in a hurry in which case you will just pay high retail...just like buying anything else!

Most on sale for $99 + fees.. Then about $60 to $100 for LPK

Unless you want Novske or some high end lower (paying for logo) $140 to like $210

If I purchased a MOE lower build kit like this, what else would I need beside the lower receiver?
