Nope. Even with an AP or API round, most of it would not penetrate steel.

Wih out even clicking the link I know its the idiot shooting the barret 50 from the title and first 2 replies... From other posts apparently its only 100 to 200 yards away and they had it against a hard surface facing right back at them...

This is why idiots shouldn't buy steel or 50s... Dangerous enough with a 22...

But no it shouldn't... The ones they show in TV are rounds with explosives on the tip to creat a hole and soften the metal for the bullet to pass through.. They were probably using the FMJ like everyone else does because that rounds so dam expensive

It depends on
1) bullet construction
2) target construction
3) background

I would not want to get hit with a subsonic 600-700 grain projectile

When a .38 or 9mm use 3-5 grains of powder and the 50 uses 205-225 grains- you end up with a lot of momentum

That was one lucky person

Sorry, it's not a 2-4moa Barrett, it's a sub moa AR50.:p Why do those who think they know about 50s always assume that all 50s are Barretts when there are many more popular and better shooting 50s available?
