I just got a new plasma TV so I had to check the picture and sound with a movie scene that is full of action. The bank heist scene in LA was the one I chose.
Since I'm fairly new to black rifles I had trouble identifying Pachino's charactors carbine. Looked and sounded like a .308 but I'm not sure.
Thanks for your help guys.

Its a FAL.
Look up DS arms they make some just like it.
Used in the movie "The Town" with ben affleck too.

The Heat gun is an FN FNC, the .223 follow up to the FAL.

I have a couple sets of FNC handguards, they fit FALs after small modifications.

FN FNC

The FN FNC evolved from the FN CAL, which was the 5.56x45mm version of the FN FAL.

I don't wanna' make this overly complex, but Google (the searching thing on the web) "pacino gun heat" and go from there. It's the first hit.

Wrong on the FAL...explain why the charging handle on the movie gun is on the right side...

DSA does not produce the FNC nor have they ever.

You did get the Fabrique Nationale thing correct, though. :)

Good work and hth.

Yup, been looking for one. Thinking about just going the Daewoo route. Interesting combination of FAL, AR, and AK.

For non-CA residents...
NIB/like new pre-'86 transferable FNC MGs are less expensive than used pre-'86 transferable M16 MGs.
They were in the $8,000-10,000 price range.

One of the reasons why semi-auto only FNC are hard to find is because the majority of them were made into MGs.

Hell, most the semi autos are in the 5k range.

The folding stock Daewoo is nice (had one) but can't have in CA. They had 1 in 12 twist though.

Though the Colt 733 that Val Kimmer has in that scene really melts my butter... mmmm
