View Full Version : help me decide on a 9mm AR style carbine...

once again, i am revisiting this topic- i am now ready to make a purchase.
i have narrowed it down to three choices:
olympic arms K9-GL http://www.olyarms.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.pbv.v8.tpl&product_id=59&category_id=24&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=5
lone wolf distr. LWD G9 http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Products.aspx?CAT=3682
just right JR carbine http://www.justrightcarbines.com/JR_Carbine_Products.html
all three of these guns have in common the ability to take Glock mags, which is a plus to me. am looking for first hand user experience from you all, if possible, to aid in my decision. gun will be mainly for plinking and informal target shooting. am not interested in any other 9mm carbines, as i already have a Marlin camp 9. i appreciate your input.

Double Diamond Law Enforcement Supply has a 9mm AR lower that takes glock mags as well.
Whatever you buy make sure it takes normal AR parts 9(except bolt and mag) so parts can be had.

+1 for DDLES. Here's my featureless 9mm AR:
Riflegear has them: http://www.riflegear.com/p-1647-double-diamond-ar-15-9mm-glock-magazine-lower-receiver.aspx

I like the JR Carbine, I do not own one or have shot one, but when i held one, it felt like a durable well built gun. Usually they feel cheap but that one felt like it could take some abuse. I want one myself and Im probably gonna go with the JR Carbine.

i agree with going true AR style- thats why i am favoring OA & LWD over JR.
keep the feeddback coming....

Because a 9mm AR, is like THIS...

what im really looking for is the AR platform, chambered in 9mm...
HK style guns are cool, though.....:cool2:
I'm currently buildlinga DD 9mm W/ the Colt pattern mags. Not really a fan of the Reward pointing Glock Lower, even though I could save money with the Glock mags that I already own. That MP5 would be at the top of my list outside of the PRK.

yeah, whatever i get will take Glock mags.....i realize i can only use the ten rounders at the range with the bullet button. its just nice to have options....

i will say i am leaning most towards the LWD G9 carbine. i like the quad rail, and would dress this gun up "tacti-cool" with a red dot sight, flashlight, and forward grip. i just wish i could get some first hand feedback from folks here about this rifle.......:lurk5:

I built my own. More fun that way to me. Despite the stories of AR9 being tough to get running smoothly it really was pretty easy. Totally reliable btw. But I originally went with a colt mag set up. I am waiting for the DD glock lowers to come back in stock at riflegear and I'm gonna switch to that so I can consolidate mag types.
