Did anyone see any deals on ammo at Cal Expo yesterday? What did you see? Did it look like they had plenty?

Wasn't there yesterday, but on past experience, you need to be there when the gates open at 9 am on Saturday. I made the trip in March, 150 ahead of me at 9am, 125 where around the Miwall area when I got in. It's gone if you get there later on Saturday, probably not worth the trip on Sunday.

The hall was only 2/3 full with tables, coins, beef jerky, stunguns and low end accessories, several table of mags/rebuild kits and a few guns. Lines for ammo were short and prices are fair but not any better than on-line. I left at noon and they still had plenty of ammo.

It's not even a gun show anymore. What a shame. It was impressive many years ago. Now it's a place to get turquiose trinkets and overpriced jerky.

I just got home. I would have been fine to stay home and save the entrance fee. The deals weren't better than anywhere else :P I tried to buy some jerky and the person could not get the payment to take using one of those cell phone card swiping devices. I ended up leaving with nothing.

what are you looking for?

most rifle ammo is better purchased online. if you are looking for reloads, (pistol), for target/plinking. got a local guy, (who was at the show), that has good prices.

.40 factory reloads for $190 + tax from Miwall. They had well priced PD ammo also. I bought some Winchester HP for a little over $16 for 50. They had plenty. My friend bought 500 factory new Federal .45 acp and 500 .223 factory reloads for about $350 OTD. These were also from the Miwall booth. Everyone else was priced a lot higher.

Gun shows are not what they used to be (at least in CA). I can usually get the same deals online.

Went to gun show on Saturday at the Expo in Sacramento, this will be the last one I will attend. It was $10 to park, $9 to get in, we had $1 off coupon, and there was nothing there. We did purchase ammo from Miwall, my son got 500 .38 reloads for about $100 and I got 500 7.62x39 for the same. If you figure in what it cost to get in and for us to get there we could have just got it online probably saved a couple of bucks.
