Hello CALGUNS,

I am a new member and a native Californian. I am going to be moving back to Cali from Oklahoma after the first of the year and wanted to get some input on bringing AR15 service rifles and handguns into the state.

I am familiar with the California specifications but what about bring non-compliant firearms that I own and are legal from another state?

If anyone has any thoughts where I can get some insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Welcome to CalGuns.
Ask your question in the appropriate sub forum.
-They have to be CA compliant to bring them in, check the flowcharts.^^^

Welcome. CA AW laws are the key, for that see the AW flowchart link toward the top of the page. Unless they fall under an AW restriction, handguns are no problem, the CA safe gun list only restricts what an FFL can sell a regular citizen. Magazines that hold over 10 rounds should be disassembled before entering CA but can be brought in as parts kits.
