The SKS hasn't been manufactured or imported for a long time. Many of those in existence have been bubba'd and ruined. Others have been bought up by collectors.

With that said, they can be found, but not cheaply anymore. Pristine specimens advertised here are bought quickly unless the price is way above market. You can also check Gunbroker or other auction sites.

The SKS is a passion and once you get one you'll want another. Keep it original and it will serve you well.

Well I was looking online today and found crossroads of the west gun show which starts in a few days. What are the odds I can find a sks there. Anyone who has been there what is it like and are there good deals?

Great rifles! You may find a good buy at the gun show. Just do your homework beforehand and know the price range for various models.

I was actually in rettings in culver city yesterday. They had a yugo 59/66 and a norinco. I believe both were hovering in the $400 range.

Picked up a Norinco factory 016 sks and norinco ammo on gunbroker.com for $300.

You can find Chinese SKS for $300-$400 now.

What kind of SKS are you wanting to buy?

The only ones in that price range these days are usually sporterized aka bubba'd. You might be able to find a beat up sks though.

Your best bet will be on Gunbroker.com or Gunauction.com

Avg original Chinese SKS is going for $350-$400 now.

Here's one on gunbroker ending in 4-days w/ no bids but starting at $300.

If you decide to purchase an SKS online be sure to let your FFL know that you're expecting a CA legal SKS.
