View Full Version : Good stripped AR15 lower?

I'm planning on getting a Del-Ton mid length upper with grip / buttstock and lower parts kit.

Basicly everything but rear sight, magazine, lower receiver and ammo.

Is this a good deal for Del-Ton? How does the brand stand up to others? Any recommendations for a good stripped lower?

The alternative would be to get a M&P Sport locally for $700 and in the end spend about $150 vs building.

Any help is appreciated on what will be my first AR.

I got my Aero Precision stripped lower from 'yzernie' in the Commercial Sales forum for $85. Page 10, post #373. Aero Precision is out of Tacoma, WA. Some people believe that these lowers are essentially Armalite lowers that they changed the name to get around the list of banned ARs when California imposed the assault weapons ban.

Is that a quality upper?

I'm actually in the market for a complete rifle kit also.

I bought the same upper kit about a year ago and have had no problems- probably have shot about 2k rounds out of it. Great bang for the buck.

I've had good luck with the Spikes stripped lowers. At the Del Mar gun show JD will usually put their stripped lowers on sale for under a $100.-.
