I'm putting together a budget (lowest price possible) AR15 M4 style carbine and wanted to see what you guys think is a great price for a barrel assembled upper. Palmetto State Armory has this one without BCG/charging handle on sale for $279. Is that about as low as I can expect to find one?

That's a good option. DSarms has one for about that as well

I'd say it is given its one of their CHF barrelled uppers. The ultra-lightweight barrel profile shouldn't matter too much unless you are doing a lot of mag dumps.

It'll get a blemish on it anyway if you use it anywhere but the range. I have that upper and its fantastic. Mine is actually a little heavier barrel, likes 69gr ammo, and goes bang every time. Its an FN barrel and if you were to shop, just the barrel alone would go for near that price. I'd get it.

Oh look a thread on budget ar15s almost right below this......what a coincidence. :)

But yeah that is a good price on the upper. I would love to throw a cmmg .22lr bcg in that.

This close to the election, assuming you can find things in stock, that isn't a bad price.
